Xbox live trouble

I'm connected through my pc with a patch cable, and my pc's wireless internet connection is shared with the xbox network connection..

I can connect to Xbox Live but I only get my friends section up, I get a message saying some services are unavailable, market place etc..?

Is this due to me using a patch not crossover?

sounds like your membership has run out. doesn't matter how you connect to XBL, aslong as you password and username matches your in

this is gonna sound like a stupid question but are you sure you have a connection ? maybe your patch cable isn't working

Yep I have a valid membership and I can play games online and see my friends etc but the marketplace etc is unavailable... Could this be due to my NAT?

yeah that could be the issues, have u ran the network setup on the xbox :) and changed everything to "Auto"

if the problem still happens try inputting the IP details manually :) might sort it out, also is the wireless network and cable network "bridged" on your pc?

no its xb live playing up. should be ok later on. mine does this so i just go sraight into a game.

another thiong, when watching video previews/sentuamessage etc, does it take forever (if at all) to load up?

Do you run a router? I had a similar issue yesterday where i couldn't find any games in CoD4, was like i had no net connection. Turns out my 360 had an old manual IP entry which was outside of the DHCP scope of my router.

Changed xbox to automatically get IP address from router and put a reserved ip address on the 360's MAC address and it was all fixed.
