Stiff Gear Change [Archive] - Saxperience

When Ive just set off and the car is pretty cold, going into second and third, then back down to second is really stiff and sometimes you here a clonk noise.
Someone said the gear box oil needs topping up, or something to do with the gears needs greasing and lubeing.
Is this correct? And how do I do this?

well theres a few guys on here that could sort it, or as most people do, get a new gearbox prices range from about £100 upto about £400 for a recon box

!!! bollocks do that, ive only just had a new clutch in, they took the gear box out and said theres no probs with it, just the latches or something could do with greasing up.
its getting serviced by a mate next week so i'll see what he says.
