Driveshafts sounds like mate. Jack the wheel up and give it a wobble and then try and shake the driveshaft to see if there's any play.
Edit: If the wheel wobbles then the bearing is shot, if the driveshaft have play in them then cv joint is shagged.

Could be a driveshaft on the way out.

For the part 50 to 130. Depending on side and condition. Fitting, free if you do it yourself. Cracking guide available to premium members :y:

Hmm, sounds simular to what I'm getting at the moment, But the odd thing i have is that the car makes the noise mostly when turning right, I did around 80 miles in my car today and it started to make this noise in a straight line too. However I pulled over into a car park for several minutes to have a look at the passanger front wheel (i fort it might be a wheel trim or tire might be deflated) but nope nothing was out of the ordinary and when I restarted on my journey it wasn't making the noise for arround 3-4 miles... then it started again. I think I'm going to go to the local garage and see what he thinks / see's I'll post up again tomorrow if another reply hasn't been posted, But all my friends reacon it's the wheel bearing / CV Joint........... WISH ME LUCK
p.s the model I have is the 1.1 Desire.

Knocking noise when turning is usually the driveshaft mate, either that or a droplink but the 1.1's dont't have them. Top mount can also knock but that sounds more like a small fucking explosion and you can get a fair jolt.

Has the gaiter around your cv joint split or the clamps come off? Jack the car up and try to wobble the wheel. If there is play in it then you're wheel bearing is knackered. Also grab the driveshaft and feel for any play. If there isn't any play though it doesn't necessarily mean that it desn't need replacing.

Yup, I took it to the Garage today and a friend said it's definatly the driveshaft, however i went to a scrapyard got a driveshaft for £20 and got the garage to fit it today within 20 minutes and that cost £20 also, so not too much.

Also said something about my rear brakes and the handbrake but going to go back and get them seen to another time.
