Odd Issue

Good evening folks!

Alrighty so I've had my Saxo VTR for around a year now and never had any issues, I've got a basic sound system including a sub, everything else is standard (apart from a Toad Alarm). Around a month ago I noticed my head unit was just randomly turning itself off, the battery light also came on occassionly so just to be on the safe side I purchased a new battery, all seemed well until the head unit once again turned itself off and the battery light appeared.
This is where things started getting worse, basically it's got to the point where the car is left overnight and next morning the battery is totally dead, I've recharged both batterys and within 24 hours of been in the car, they are totally flat. On occassions the car does start normally, I can take it out on a drive but as soon I hit a large bump in the road the power just dies. The car will continue running, but things such as the power steering, windscreen wipers and electric windows fail to operate. What the hell is going on?

get a multimeter and check the voltage to the battery when the engine is runing, if its not around 13.9 volts then could be ur alternator

Thanks, I'll have to give that a go. A few friends suggested a new alternator but also mentioned the fact I'm best off getting a refurbed one due to pricing. Are these things expensive?

99% sure its your alternator, mine messed up after geting a new gearbox fitted
