ripspeed not the best make in the world ,
you pay for what you get i guess.
anything with a valid brand liek kenwood or alpine along them lines

Headunits?? . . . Alpine is probs your best shout within your pricerange.
If you are willing to push the boat out a little further Eclipse headunits are second to none!!!!

Yea theres better avaliable but if you just want a screen then they're good ive got one and they're only 40w so dont give amazing sound from the speakers so if you get one id suggest an amp for your component speakers.

you could do a lot better for the money, and i think they are a gimmic and a bit chavvy. for the money you could get a really good head unit like an alpine!
i would only get one if there was one on a good deal!

they look nice, with the screen hiden away, only problem i have with it is that it doesnbt have a detatchable part to it which means if some1 does nick they are able to use it :(

used to get ripspeed stuff coming back all the time when i worked at halfords. no end of faults with them. cheap and poor quality
which is why i bought an alpine. 4x50w cd/mp3 with fullspeed ipod interface for £120. had it a good year now with no problems. plenty of features and great sound quality
been tempted to swap for a jvc cd/dvd with a small 3.5" approx screen built into the face. just know it wouldn't be as good as the alpine though for sound and build quality
had an alpine in my first car. sold the car with the stereo still in then got a jvc and have now gone back to alpine
only way i would bother with in-car dvd now is if i could stretch to buying an alpine screen or possibly pioneer

Ive got a Pioneer flip out dvd sitting in my room at the moment that i took out of my saxo. I havent got round to sticking it in my ST (i dont actually think im allowed to put it in according to my boyfriend as it will spoil the car), but that one was awesome...maybe you should think about spending a bit more money and getting a better version of a dvd player?

I had one, was decent picture and worked fine for about 3 month but then the DVD player started to die, to be honest, I wouldn't bother, either save up for a decent one or put the £200 odd quid for one towards a good CD unit.
