hiya i know this is a stupid question but i wonder if anyone can help me?
is there a belt that goes from the alternator if so what is the belt called?
my frined asked me the other day and i didnt have a clue he said his is frayed and doesnt know what to do!
can anyone help?

think it could be the timing belt.
If it is the timing belt then its needs to be replaced asap. Not sure if it is
the timing belt though

its not the timig belt as i showd him a pic of a timing belt and he said he didnt have a clue where that was on the car and he also didnt recognise any of the cogs/wheels that the timig belt was near.
also i have repleaced a timing belt befor! smileys/smiley4.gif

Strangely, it's called the 'alternator belt' smileys/smiley17.gif
also referred to as the 'drivebelt'.

its all frayed and is about to snap

All you need is a new belt and I dont think there too expensive, not hard to fit either. smileys/smiley2.gif
