I think they are over hyped to be fair. Both my saxos handle so much better than any KA I have ever driven. I'm not saying they handle shite... just the saxo is sooooo much better it feels shit driving a similar sized car that understeers so much.
Not to mention I hate the way the steering has fuck all feedback and the a pillars are ridiculously huge and the rear window is soooo small there's no point having a rear view mirror.....

It was a mates, and at the time I thought it was a laugh, but looking back its probably the worst I've ever tried. Took about 3 attempts to get it into reverse lol.
Mr_P: completely disagree, I find Ka's to be very good-driving little cars, Ford 'boxes are nice and meaty, and steering is direct with plenty of feedback.

How can you say this :p
Mate of mine when he was 17 had a 1990 4 speed 1.0, scared the shit out of me init countless times the thing would roll so far it would make my rover at the time feel like a f1 car
So many times tried to get it off the speedo without success they jsut wont go anywhere near 100 LOL

Only the square shapped 200 had the honda engine, the sqaure shape was also the only 200 with rear discs bar a "real" vvc which had discs on the 25's.
The discs used to seaze all the time on the mk2 200;s so rover changed them for better drums on the rears. My bubble 200 1600 had solid fucking front discs the amount of times i warped front discs wasnt even funny.
A 98 spec car yer
-solid front discs
-rear drums (actully quite good)
-No abs at all
- front discs where tiny

97 Megane Classic, that was just plain pants.

2nd April 2009, 21:02
No id go to brake, litterly blow onto the pedal and the steering wheel would shake like youve just had a wheel fall off and if you stamped the brakes due to no abs and mega warped discs it would pull to one side never the same side but one side. aww the joys of rovers lol
Honestly best bit of advise i could give you would be to get down the brakers get the zr 1.4 calipers possable the carriers if there different cant remember off the top of my head, then buy some vented discs and a new set of pads.
buy far the best upgrade for the 200's buddy.

My father had a rover 400 and went to one of these car supermarkets looking for a "new" car. Said he would part ex it so some bloke went out to the car park and from about 200 yds said "yep, we'll give you 2k for it"
Little did he know that... the drivers side door wouldnt open due to a quite horrific smash all down the side of the car which all the dents, scratches and damage were still there (the bloke who "valued" it only saw the passenger side from where he stood) Boot didn't open, And if you turned on the blowers the cabin would fill with smoke. There were more problems but I can't remember them. lolz.

steering wheel used to shake up and down :panic: at about 60,
at 75 it used to start weaving all over the road,
anything above about 82 the doors used to shake so much you could actually see daylight through the door seals!
and it didnt have a rev limiter!
would do 105 though!
it was 10 years old with 45,069 miles on it, lasted till 49,997 till it snapped a con rod and sent it skyward.....straight through the bonnet!:fcuk:

Austin Maestro 1.3. Completely worn brake disks/pads/dampers, no power at all which wasn't helped by a blowing exhaust. And mouldy seats with holes in. The car wouldn't do over 35mph and wouldn't stop either. Horrible horrible car!!!!
Close second was my brothers old Corsa B 1.4gls. Very bouncy/rolly suspension, crap brakes, very loud and vibrated a lot and smelt like a wet dog when it was warm

KA, I fecking hate everything about driving one!
i had one as a courtesy car from a garage, they roll like buggery, the understeer is the same as a Ship, and they feel so cheap and tacky

im sorry people- my VTS. i am going to get slated for this i no but its my honest opinion. i had a corsa c before this and that was a dream to drive before the spaxo. its the gears and everything it just felt so much nicer to drive. the vts has very light steering and there is no complaints there tbh but the gear changes are very tempramental. its what lets the car down imo.
although i did have drive a lada nive kossack 4x4 for abit. that was cool

Corsa SRI, had less power than a reliant robin and had a throttle response time of about 3 seconds.

I think I know what you're getting it. I thought the VTS was on the whole a pretty good drive (had one and loved it), but the gearbox (ahh good old PSA 'boxes...) was a bit vague and not a meaty or precise shift at all, so a quick launch with power shifting would sometimes result in me missing gears and having to double-clutch to get back on the ball, never had that problem in another high-performance car.

Redeeming factor would be that it's a mk1 polo and they look gorgeous.
