View Full Version : 80mm TOO LOW??

Hi ive had the back end of my car decked 80mm with uprated dampers! and the front by 50mm-60mm springs on standard shocks :D lol
Anyways going over some speed humps the cat/silencer scrape like motherbitches!
Is this normal and the price to pay for a decked ride?
Will this improve when decat the exhaust? as the standard exhuast pipe hangs a little low?
Plus i can only really got one person in the back! is it worth all this hassel or should i have it raised a notch ?

raised a notch ?
please tell me you havent had it lowered the wrong way?
was it done by notches or did they take the torsion bars out??
if they did id get it raised back up because been down by notches isnt a safe thing

my bar is out at the moment, and it was a fucker to get out so im taking a break... im dropping mine alot lower than 80, by using a ruler im looking at 110mm... anyone from plymouth will know to local lap around the Hoe isnt going to be easy with the bumps!
keep it slammed man. i bet it looks mental! like Westcoast above me have said, just crawl over them, take them at an angle too... will make a difference :y:
pics mate?

Ill get some pics up! its looks amazing but you cant really carry passengers i can only get one person in the back. does look sweet tho!
It's fine general driving but getting it on and off the car ramps and over speedbumps is a bitch. Some are ok then other's take the piss! i think once i got a decat on it wont really scrape!

Dude, thats dangerous on the bumpstops.
Raise it.
And its no wonder why the exhaust is hitting stuff, theres no clearance under the car, cant blame it on the exhaust hangers:wall:.

hmmm
my cars low why do i hit things lol
80 isnt low by the way
ive seen a saxo down 100 all round
however hes running rather stiff and has shortened bumpstops off an s1 106 xsi
sitting on the stops is an mot failiure for a reason

Well the front goes over and then the Cat just sits on the bump and scraps the whole length of the car till the back tyres go up and over.
Think i should raise it 20mm or so??
Or is the look worth it my front is down on 50mm springs so sits a little higher so i could go up on the back to sit it flush but im not sure if i want to i kinda like the taking off look.
The only other downer is i can only really get one person in the back! Even with uprated dampers! That are as stiff as bollox!
What we saying guys?
Style or Praticality?
