The other day i noticed my drivers side hair pin on the caliper had come out of the top hole, i took the wheel off and put it all back how it should be and the brakes have been fine. Tonight ive noticed when im braking the brakes are making a grinding horrible noise and squeeking sometimes too! What could this be?? the pads have loads left on them. Could it be the rear drums?? I dont really have a clue what it is but im sure its not right...
cheers

Try taking the pads out and put some copper grease on the back of them.
