driving without headlight!

hi,

whats the worst that can happen if u get caught driving a car without a headlight? as i have a issue where i am supposed to take a car in for repair it has mot, tax and insurance but the drivers side headlight is all damaged i am sure u cant drive like this but as i said what is the worst that can happen?

If your driving during the day its not an issue i would of thought but at night not so good, you will prob get a warning and/or a seven day wonder

As above, daytime you should be fine as some motorbikers have a cover over their front headlight because it "looks good" however come night time you should have both on so people can judge the width of your car.

If you need to go out at night, put your fogs on just to be safe. lol

You still need your headlights to drive during the day as you need your full beam to warn other drivers of your presence.

Not sure on the punishment - probably just a ticking off and a vehicle rectification notice

I once phoned the cop shop asking a similar question when I had bumped my ibiza. The head lamp worked but the glass was broken.

I think i hit a nerve with the copper as he said as long as you have 2 white lights at the front and 2 red ones at the back its ok, its those bloody idiots who have blue coloured headlamps are illegal! blah blah blah...eeerrrmm right ok thanks
