Can you really take your test in your own car?

A driving examiner is there to examine your driving, not you or your car. As long as your car is fit for the exam, it shouldn't matter. Admittedly some examiners may be put off if you turn up in such a car but the fact is they're simply marking you on your driving, there isn't a section on the sheet about what you wear or the vehicle you drive..

Take your test in the car you can drive best, and are most confident in. If you drive and make no major or dangerous mistakes, and make under 15 minor mistakes you'll pass, simple as!

seems like the best option tbh, you don't want to go into your test 5 minors down and you havn't even switched the engine on.

doing it in your own car will save you £50 to hire the examiners car for the test

So telling them you have a chavvy older brother will really help? It'll make you look like even more of a chav, and give the impression you've been influenced by your chavvy older brother.

Seriously, STOP over thinking it, its a test of driving and if you're good enough you'll pass. They don't pass you on your clothes, your car, the day of the week or the colour of your socks - if you're good enough to pass you shouldn't been needing to try and find excuses anyway!

Aslong as you don't do 60 in 2nd you'll be fine ;)

The point of saying it was your chavvy older brothers, is so the examiner doesn't think its her car and put her into chav/girl racer category and find reasons to fail her. I don't see how that would make her look more of a chav, if anything it makes her look less of a chav because she doesn't want to be put in that category. Also i don't think it is down to whether your good or not neccesairly.. if a boy racer overtakes you and you slam on the breaks or the instructor breakes for you.. whos fault is that. There's to many variables.

always under the impression that to do your test you had to have a Dual Control car ?

Just while taking lessons, under a test they cannot have anything to do with controlling the car while you're driving it.

They can break for you if theres significant danger, it counts as an instant fail.

I'd stick with the car your learning in, Seems only sensible.

It'll make it look like she comes from a chavvy family.. And how the hell would you even propose to say this to the examiner? Just by saying it it'd look like your desperate and making excuses!

And that could happen in any car, and the idea of driving is you spot the danger before it happens.. If you see a boy racer shooting up the road, you keep your eye on him and slow down in time before any danger occurs or you have to 'slam on the breaks'. Seriously, if you have to make excuses to pass your test you really shouldn't be on the road! Quite worrying.

They could stick there arms out the window and use the airrr resistincezzz

Instant Fail.

basically, dress smart, be polite, and they wont think twice.

boys get catorgorised more than girls. And if the examiner says anything about the exhaust, say

i thought it was standard

Krys_23

To be fair if you think your ready for your test you should be able and willing to drive any car.

Yeah tbh let your driving do the talking, take your car and be comfortable or take instructors car and feel less confident - seems like an easy decision to me. Good luck anyway.
