Hi there,

I have a 3-plug VTR and have a rear spoiler I want to remove as it currently bounces up and down when I go over bumps (and sounds like its going to fall off!0.

However I cant seem to see where to get at the bolts that hold it in? Its one of the larger VTR spoilers like so:

At the moment I can actually lift one end out of the hole, which exposes a bolt that goes through the spoiler and into the boot. When I open up the boot, I cant seem to see where this bolt goes through to so I can reattach the nut. Any ideas?

The nut is actually in the spoiler and the bolt sits inbetween the thickness of the boot if you know what i mean (so you cant see it in the boot).
Another fine invention from the french fookers , your best off just gettin some sealent and glueing that knackered side down if you dont want to fix it properly.

or

take it off completley ,
drill 9mm holes where bolts should go into the boot,
buy a length of 8mm rod from any motor shop,
cut 2 pieces of the rod to act as bolts,
screw them into spoiler (as the nuts are locked into spoiler),
then when the rods come through the thickness of the boot throw some washers and some nuts on.
squirt a bit paste/sealent around the holes in the top of the boot before fully tightening (so its waterproof).:y:

Yes that makes sense, I think I have managed to find where the bolt is on the underside of the boot. There are two rubber jacket type things that bung up a couple of holes, if I can just get to the nut and remove it from the side thats still secured, I should be able to take it off.

Have people done this before and how do they seal up the holes that will be left? I really dont want to have to fill the holes and rattle can them over as Im sure they will look sh*t!!

On a side note, it looks like the guy that had this before me decided he wanted this spoiller because there are holes in the rear view windscreen where the standard spoiler obviously was!
