Ok i have bought some Diamond HEX S500's for up front powered by an audison srx4 giving 170rms.

In need of a few views on a decent sub with matching amp not really a tight budget just looking for ideas, want sq.

Also have an audison srx2 may put some fill in the back but may sell it not sure yet.

Opinions? Thanks

whats your budget mate?

i wouldnt opt for a rear set up as the diamonds off the audison should be more than capable of filling the car with sound!

If i would have to put a budget on the sub amp and wiring would be around the £350 mark probably.
Could squeeze a bit more.

amp: http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/pioneer-gmd8400m-p-6446.html

sound deadening: http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/second-skin-damplifier-door-p-4851.html

box will need to be custom made, as you can see in the specs of the JL sub it doesnt have to be huge

Cheers for that.

Ported or Sealed?

I have always liked the crispness of sealed but would i need to give it more than 600rms then?

How much sound proofing needed to do the following -

Doors
Boot Lid
Number Plates
Maybe complete floor?

to do all the car in soundproofing (2 layers) and still have some left over, id use: http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/max-mat-pro-bulk-p-6467.html

its pretty good stuff tbh! and would deaden the car nicely

sealed would be fine, and iirc most JL's work better in a sealed enclosure, the amp will be giving the sub 600wrms, which is a nice ammount, a lot of bass, but with JL's known SQ, even in a sealed box, it'll still boom whilst hitting the freq's perfectly and offering great audio pleasure
