This is a problem I've had since getting the car took it to garage but they said unless they see the car stall when starting they can't tell what problem is. As it does it at random times and only does it when I stop the first few times at most sometimes not even that there is no way I can get it to garage while its still stalling. Anyway I asked if it may be the idle control valve and they said if it was the car would stall when warm but it does it sometimes when cold never when warm. Another thing I've noticed is when the car has been stood for a while like a few days or weeks it starts perfect every time then when its used daily like most of time it starts struggling sometimes when I don't put some gas on while starting. So I'm guessing its something that struggles when used a lot then sort of recovers when not used.

so it only does it when the cars cold? sounds like its just bogging down.. i find that with my car when its really cold.. starts bogging down and the clutch is all jumpy and that.. something you've got to live with i think.. just give it more revs :y:

So isn't there any thing that will stop it happening?

i have the smae problem with my 1.1, it will strart but if i dont hold the revs up immediatly from starting it will cut out. after a few mins it seems to be fine tho. my just be something you have to live with, which sucks i know

fuel filter.
stalls when first start up in a morning? Do you have to press throttle to get it turned over?

I used to suffer from the car either runing idle at 15000rpm or starting and then it dying to 0rpm over a few seconds.
My garage said the same thing, also nothing showed on their diagnostic mahine.
Anyway, i changed the coolant sensor and crankshaft sensor and it solved the problem.
