MOT Failed!!!

Basically havent used my saxo in over 2 years took it for its first mot yesterday and it failed on 11things

Offside Front Side repeater missing (1.5.A1a)
Offside Front Front suspension has excessive play in a lower suspension ball joint (2.5.B.1a)
Nearside Front Brake hose leaking (3.6.A.1) **DANGEROUS**
Exhaust emissions carbon monoxide content at idle excessive (7.3.2c)
Exhaust emissions carbon monoxide content after 2nd fast idle excessive (7.3.2b)
Exhaust emissions hydrocarbon content after 2nd fast idle excessive (7.3.2b)
Exhaust noise is clearly in excess of that emitted by a similar vehicle fitted with a standard silencer in average condition (7.1.2b)
Front both Headlamp aim too high (1.6)
Front both Headlamp insecure (1.2.4b)
Service brake efficiency below requirements (3.7.A.8)
Parking brake efficiency below requirements (3.7.A.9/10)

i have sorted out all the problems apart from the exhaust ones anybody got some advice for me want my saxo back on the road :)

not bad mate if its stood for that long.


I would take it for a good thrashing (on the way to the test centre for legal reasons) make sure its nice and warm, makes a big difference.

Also when was it last serviced, new plugs and oil help emissions as well mate

it was last serviced about 6months ago i did take it for a good thrashing lol

is the exhaust blowing any where?

nope double check the exhaust

could be worth removing the lambda sensors and giving them a clean mate.

Daft question, is there a cat on it??

yep i just put the cat back on lol gonna try and replace the lamba sensor

you will need a standard system on for mots now thats what the excessive noise thing is going on about
