Can someone help me with this please??

Wired up the sound system, the way it should be done and it was fine until the other day i was driving and the amp started to smoke. Turned everything off and it stopped but i left it off.

Now it works fine on the ignition but when i turn the engine on and drive it smokes a lot more with the more revs i put on.

Anyone know why??

Thanks

are the fuses in line/in the amp, the correct ampage? if the power cables are very thick chances are the fuses won't blow when its supposed to causing the amp to fry!

have to say it sound like the fuse isnt doing its job, the fuse should be the right amp for you amp, if its not then it wont stop large amounts of power frying your amp, also just check for frayed wires, if thats all good it could be the amp itself,

Disconnect it immediately, you don't want your car catching fire.
Regardless of what fuse you have it sounds like that amp is buggered, if it's a valuable amp send it off for inspection, if its not worth a lot and cant see anything obvious I'd look for a replacement.
