Do you need to wear in a sub?

I heard rumours that you need to wear in a new sub? is this true? and what exactly are you supposed to do for how long? just not play it loud?

Thinks its advised to have it low for 30hours of play to wear it in... cant just start hammering it out from new you will end up busting it :P

yes run that sub in on low sound if its fresh from the shop......

It has been in a box on a shelf for a few months and never used so best to give it a few hours to wear it in :)

dont run at full str8 away. i did and melted the voice coils :(
