i think if the light is flashing its the seat. if its a steady light means the airbags.

tbh mate not really. if it was the seats i do know a few tricks, but its no use to you in this case. i would however remove the steering wheel airbag and make sure that it was connecting properly. 2 torx screws at the back off the steering wheel and it comes off. then there`s a wire that should be connected to it. mind disconnect the battery first. you might have to get a autospark to sort it out if all else fails. a flashing light is ok for mot but im sure a steady light is a fail. if im wrong im sure someone will correct me.
ps - i wouldn`t know where to start on a passenger side airbag.

yours will probably just be the connections under your seats. check out the link below. unless you have changed the interior

i have had another look and i ave the feeling its not to do with teh seat end, cus when i disconnect the wiring it doesnt flash like i would expect its sjut stays on. so im a right in thinking its to do with the airbags

why dont you get it diagnosed on a scanner about £25 most places it could be a pretentioner down they will code read it and may even reset it we do them all the time

So what happens if he has a bump and the airbag fails to inflate?
Imo i would get it checked out professionally if you value the safety of you and your passenger.
