Car shaking????

My car started shaking but only while the accelerator is down, if you put clutch down or neutral its fine or even when not on the throttle much, it also some times gets worse and better, the gear stick is baddly going up and down shaking and the whole car shakes, someone has said could be an engine mount or gearbox mount but how do i check for these?? thanks and help appreciated!

More than likaely the mount which has perished.

You should replace with some powerflex ones

yh an engine mount has gone,more than likely the gearbox one if its making that much movement.

i dont think there is a way you could tell without taking the mount out the holder tbh.Think theres a guide on here somewhere to do the gearbox mount,or you could just take it to a garage an ask them

The garage was doin my head in saying 130quid for a new mount plus vat and if it dosnt fix it i need a new gear box!! ahhh lol!!! the gearbox mounts only cheap but need too know what it is 1st before i replace things etc!! is the engine mount a big job etc?

On a serious note, you may wanna take down that post saying you did 115mph on a motorway next to the picture of your car and reg number lol

replace the mount,doesnt cost much and not hard to do i been told but i cant find the guide to do it,

start with the mounts before thinking about a new gearbox

Which mount should i replace? the gearbox mount 1st? The guy in the garage said it had play but not much tho!!

check your driveshafts too i had insane vibration in my car when accelerating it would shake the whole car from side to side all the mounts where fine and the gearstick would shake backwards and forwards like mad i changed my drivers side shaft and its spot on now

Yer tiptop that sounds igsactly what mine is doing! if im not harsh on the accelarator its ok just when i put it down a bit! ill jack it up today and check it all!!
