help with ecu!!!!!

hi all. i got another ecu for my car this morning coz my old 1 was fuk*d. It is exactly the as my old 1, all the numbers are the same etc. My car just wont go, its a mk1 vtr with the key pad. I put my code in but both lights stay on(red and green)i also tried the standard manufacturer codes,0001 and 1111. Has any 1 had these problems b4? What can i do? Please help. no it hasnt, i was told i just had to plug it in and the code would be the same as it was b4,obviouslt bull shit.

i have been told on ssc that if i get the keypad from the same car as i got the new ecu from i use the code from that car and it will work. is this rite?

can u get your money back for the ecu,i have just read on ssc about taking it to citroen(to much messing around)they will charge a bomb.how much did you pay for the ecu?i can get the number for a company for you tomorrow who do uinlocked ecu's for your car about £250 though.i just had to get one on mine.let me know mate

i payed £50 for the ecu. I have just been on the phone to a mate of my dads that runs a auto electrical company and he can bypass the keypad.

if he bypasses the keypad u know u wont be able to use it again,i think it will be easier to get an unlocked ecu smileys/smiley17.gif
