Not a Saxo but might be an interesting read for you.
Well as the title reads really ... I had the opportunity to detail an absolutely mint 1975 Porsche 914. Such an epic car for it's age and still relatively clean. The owner (Who is also Joe with the mint Peugeot White 205 1.9 GTi, dad) is looking to sell the car very soon so wanted one last detail before people start flooding round to view it. (And yes, he is being persuaded to buy something french and retro.)
The car itself is kept in a garage and only driven on very clear and sunny days. It covered 600 miles last year iirc and thus is generally in very good condition. The front has a few stones chips, the odd blemish here and there but for a car which is 34 years old, the bodywork is in very good condition. Not to mention the sound of the engine sitting in the back, the thing is a beast.
Before I even got to work on the car the paint was looking healthy, the owner had recently clay barred it so was smooth to touch and just needed a wash down from being in the garage before it was machine polished. The plan of the day was to machine polish all the panels (being careful of the very expensive badges and vinyl work) with my Kestral DA polisher, a Meg's 2.0 polishing pad, Meg's #80 Speed Glaze, then go over it with Meg's Show Finish and finally apply Chemical Guys Wet Mirror Finish to bring back a real depth in the paint (Similar to Karl's GTi) in the other thread. I personally didn't think the car needed a wax applied to it, it doesn't see the light of day so the paint is fine to run without that extra source of protection.
So I got to work ~
