hey everyone i got some Rear Morette Lights for my Saxo yesterday, second hand coz new ones are just too expensive, but i have a slight problem

when i brake the indicator and the light comes on smileys/smiley5.gif someones suggested a bad earth so i took them off and looked at the wireing but it all seems fine. no breaks or anything

so i'm abit miffed has anyone got any ideas ? ?

it sound like somewhere the connection to the brake light and the indicator light are touching and have become one circuit instead of two you need to make sure there is no crossed wireing anywheres or touching metal

i have just looked at the Brown connector block and the one attached to the lights has 5 wires going into it but the one on the car has 6, it has a pink wire that isn't connected to anything, i dont know alot about wireing but i'm thinking this could be the problem

got any ideas how to get around this?

ooops cheers mate is that the connector from the car or the lights?

even though yours is a VTR and mines a Furio it wouldn't make any difference to how the light are set up would it ? because thats well different to mine

as i got these lights from a VTS

VTaaRon

if you look its like the white and pink wires from the car goes nowhere and the yellow from the light doesnt either try changing the yellow to the other side

so you need to turn one of them the other way round

VTaaRon

possibly but may just be that your wiring is different to the vts?

All lights on saxo's are the same guys, they dont have any additional lights if there a vts etc so will be wired the same. smileys/smiley2.gif

how comes my light connectors are wired different? we wernt sure they were just thought it might have been a possible reason for the problem ? any ideas dan?

nixy9

yea we thought they were the same, as they are still saxos, but still aint got a clue why they would be different

Little update though, me and my dad took them off and gave the connections a scrub and now they are working smileys/smiley5.gif , but i cant figure out why? because we didn't change the wireing at all so there's still one wire (the pink one) not connected to anything, so im still looking for any ideas, as this cant be a good thing

the brake light on the other side (passenger side) does not work, but this possibly could be a bulb i will check when i get the time and update it lol

Thanks for your feedback guys
