That the professional's use?

My mate works in a factory that builds salon products & he works in the spraying booth, his dad is one of the managers there so he has the keys, i asked him to ask his dad if he would let him in to spray some parts for me & he said yes aslong as its in his own time, i havent been to have a look at the place but by what he tells me he has everything a body shop would have, a well ventilated booth, air compressor, the spray guns, a place to dry them out & what ever else is needed.

I just need to know where i can buy the paint from & the laquar (sp) & how much i need of it & roughly how much it will set me back, i said i will give him £100 for spraying my whole VT* kit, but if the paint is going to cost me £300+ then i'd be better off taking it to a proper body shop.

If this is in the wrong section iam sorry, i wasnt sure which one to put it in.

You need to go to your paint suppler. Ask a bodyshop for directions to your local one.

TBH if your giving your mate £100 + buying the paint he isn't a mate!

If you help him prep etc it won't take him long at all to spray.

To do a VTR kit i would say get atleast a litre of everything, but it depends on the sprayers technique and the way he works.

I assume your going to be using 2pac paint, so you will need primer, base, laquer, hardner and activator.

All should between £50-100 hope that helps. Anymore questions just ask!

I said to him i'll buy the paint if he sprays it.

All the parts will be in primer ready for spraying, should be able to get it all done within two weekends.

Iam doing it in quartz mettalic silver, dont know if that is a 2pac paint.

Whats hardner & activator?

Will these paint suppliers do paint for all sorts?

Such as house hold paints to paints for cars, as if they do then my dad knows a decorator & iam sure he will get all his paint from a proper supplier.

Depends, usually they are just auto.

They will have samples of paint you can choose from (take abit of your car to get a perfect match)

Yes it will be 2pac

Activator and harder is what you mix with the paint to help it dry quickly and the hardner makes it go hard.

I will ask around & find out where my nearest auto paint suppliers are.

Yeah i'll get the air vent in my car out, thats in quartz metalic silver.

I'll ask my mate if he knows what activator & hardner are, if he doesnt have a clue then i think i'd be safer taking it to a car body shop.

Thanks for the help mate smileys/smiley20.gif

No problem mate, but if he isn't sure what he's doing. Get a pro to do it!
