just a quick comment i have read through the all the preveuse threads to try get a heads up on the fault/problem but nothing has helped.

Basicly ther saxo wont start. i was misfireing and trying to cut out while driveing very intermitantly some times loads some times not at all. it first
happened when at some lights went to pull away and stalled.. then when to start it it wouldnt managed to get a push across the junction to a car park got a lift to my gf's work and when i came back to sort out the tow home it started fine...

3 month later and it happened again started fine got it home and as i pulled on the drive it cut out and hasnt started since.

i think i have narrowed it down to no power gottgin to the fuel pump.

it reads about 2.4 volts when the ignition it on then when i go to start riases to 2.6.

tried pretty much all the relays i can from my mates 106 and still no joy..

can any one shed any light or pointer where to to look next..

regrads

Try a switched live from the ignition and see what happens? Fully test the pump and power/earth leads before you move on.

i have my amp cable to hand so can try that but from comareing voltages from my mates 106 and mine i came to this conclusion that was all

Sometimes readings on the fuel pump feed can vary slightly from 12v, but dropping that low will be a problem. Did you test the wires whilst the pump is being supplied power to prime? As in just after you've turned the ignition onto II. The voltage drop may just be from it being inactive.

yeah i have checked the inertia switch to what i was told by my mate.. to reset it press it?? but i tinkered with it and it didnt make a diff..

the voltage it 0 when i put ignition it on then i turn the imobiliser off it goes upto 2.5v and then i turn the key to start you hear the relay click under the dash then a bit more of a turn to start it all up and the voltage goes upto 2.6v and thats it..

I'm assuming you don't have a power probe to hand to test it with? Try putting an additional feed from the battery to the live connection on the pump connection, then if it's a power feed problem it should fire up.

i've put a volt meter across the connector to the fuel pump there for knowing it is a power suply problem

That's why I was saying to try a seperate feed, if it is just a feed problem it will fire up. In which case you have to trace the wire back until you find the fault.
