I was just wondering if anyone knows why my radiator water is like a browny colour. I had the water flushed out about 4 months ago becuase of the water being brown, went to put anti-freeze in my car and the waters brown again, any clues to what it is???????

Isnt the water supposed to be clear or blue due to anti-freeze

flush the hole system with fresh water , then top it up

with anti freeze ( that time of year dont forget ) .

bleed the system to see if there is any change .

gotta remember your heating water and anti freeze up and its circulating around a predominantly metal envirnonment, brown water isnt something i would worry about to much unless you notice that you are loosing oil or a lot of water

You should keep antifreeze in all year round as it has corrosion inhibitors in it. The brown will probably be rust from the iron liners and block (if it is iron). Aluminium alloy will corrode particularly badly and cause premature head gasket failure.
