lol i dont understand why people spend so much on cleaning products,
hot soapy water elbow grease and wax is enough unless you're driving an aston martin or something lol

Jorge-
16th April 2009, 16:27

About £240 mate.

All from Clean Your Car, I went over to collect it as it's 15 miles from my house so saves waiting on the postage.

When i Clean My CARS i Normally

Rinse the Car with Cold Water Remove all the Dirt
and Dust TO avoid Scratching my car..

then just use a Normal car shampoo from wikos (£3)
with warm water and scrub down your car.
buff it dry with a clean dry cloth.

then just use a CAR WAX from poundshop (£1)
to wax your car but do bit by bit then use a power
buffer to buff the wax

BISTO***** Car is looking like a show room car

with a cost of (£4)

not being funny but if you can get a showroom finnish for £4 then i doubt there would be any detailing companies in business, also half the stuff there is for more than just cleaning.

Kestral badged as a Clean Your Car Polisher. Exactly the same, from the same people but badged differently.

I actually here by declare that if I ever, EVER spend that much on car cleaning gear I'll castrate myself.

edit: is this for the business or for you own enjoyment... ?

I dubious about spending £3million quid on cleaning gear... but £4 I find hard to believe... nothing, bar god himself can remove crap like a clay bar - that's the only thing I really spend money on... the clay

McGuire86
16th April 2009, 20:42
yeah it is actually, a good couple hours of water and shampoo along with waxing and polishing does the job just fine, i would never spend over £50 on cleaning products let alone £240 thats just madness

Luke
16th April 2009, 21:29
Nothing wrong with spending £240 on cleaning gear and when you do Valeting/Detailing for a living, I opt for the best results.

smiith
16th April 2009, 21:36
You dont do it for a living though do you luke :P its a bit on the side.

I dont clean my car.. vandals clean my paint off the car for me, saves me time, and money...

Barry123
16th April 2009, 21:53
you know what. I hope you charge at least £50 a bloody hour. I hate hate hate cleaning a car.... I said I'd clean dadsayer's before he sells it. BIG fucking mistake.
It's an estate car, it has more surface area than the fucking USSR, 4 bastard hours that thing has taken me so far just to wash it, clean it inside and clay it. Polish and wax tomorrow. Should've just put through a forecourt car wash :wall:

For a full detail, which is a full days work I charge slightly more than that. For valets etc - they range from £10 - £45 dependant on what you get done.

smiith
16th April 2009, 22:35
£50 for a days work doesnt seem like an awfull lot :/

Luke
16th April 2009, 22:36
When I say slightly more, I don't mean a few quid more....but I don't wanna be broadcasting my prices on here ;) don't wanna get in trouble lol.

Like I said in the thread mate, it's a Clean Your Car equivalent but it's made in the same factory, so it's the same unit but badged differently.

Nothing wrong with this one mate, not paying £50 for a Gilmour when it practically does the same job - waste of money IMO.

Could of always get it from me ;)

So far yes, haven't managed to get the backing plate onto the polisher though? Probably me being stupid.

I had a play about with some products earlier, quite liked the snow foam (smelt nice) and the Carlack Shampoo was great.

Put the backing plate on top ... Then with the little spanner thing ... Hold onto the metal thing which turns round, so you stop it spinning ... Then screw the back plate on by hand and bob's you're uncle.

Hope that helps lol ...
