My single plug ecu saxo vts is having a few problems. It wont start unless you spray fuel directly into the throttle bodie,it ideals very low and there is quite alot of black smoke on tick over. It runs but has no power going up hills etc, also checked coil pack works, changed spark plug && all plugs are sparkin - no Engine managment light on! Also run a compression test n was all fine. Have cleand the throttle bodie and the map sensor any ideas?

Could be faulty fuel pump or incorrect timing, black smoke signals overfuelling.

hello mate it sounds like my vtr, it over fueling and it will want to cut out after 3000 rpm.
i have had a new cam sensor manifold pressure sensor and throttle position sensor and nothing has sorted the problem out , the coil pack is also fine we think it now the ecu thats at fault.
hope that helps. kirby

Im sure my old one had the same problem and i changed the collant temp sensor, was causing the car to overfuel loads and stall out all the time
