Heard Halfrauds had a 3 for 2 offer on ALL cleaning products. So went down there to have a quick look.... :wall: Started piling things in the bucket. Ended up with £103 to pay!! Had £35 taken off altogether, so i guess that's a pretty good deal.
Here's everything i got:
http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa248/SaxoFurio1988/P200409_1728.jpg
- 3 x Buckets ( 1 was free so why not ;) )
- Meguiars Gold Class shampoo.
- Meg's microfibre wash mitt
- 2 x Meg's Water magnet towels.. Didn't think 1 would be enough.
- Meg's Clay kit: Consisted of two 50g clay bars in a sealed container, "Quik Detailer", "Cleaner Wax" sample and a Premium microfibre cloth. Looks exactly like every other 2bh. Never used clay before, so excited to get me hands on that :y:
- Meg's "Deep System" Step 1,2 and 3.
- Meg's "All metal Polish"
- Meg's "Tyre Gel"
- Meg's "Leather Care" for the seats.
- And last but not least a Simoniz Trim protector to get bumpstrips back to they're former glory.
Will hopefully be using these products on Wednesday. Haven't used many of the methods before, so will be a good old challenge :D
Will get Before and After pics of course :y:
P.S How often would the car need to be clayed? Not much im assuming?
Also do i need to do step 1,2 and 3 on a weekly/monthly basis? Or will a two bucket method wash bring the shine back up?
Thanks

everything ... well not car audio and accesories like that, more consumables.
at what they call trade price.. some things its shite on, i got 4 pence of a tool kit, but then my 75 quid battery i got for jsut shy of 50.
if you work in the mechanical industry, you can take a pay check and get a trade card. if you know someone who works there, ask them nicely if they would get one for you.
if you are also a good flirst, i found the lass at the till is a good one to start chatting up. . . after going on a daily basis i got well known to my local halfrauds store!
jsut dont ask a manager or complete twat, they always say no :(

any chance you have a Maxcess where you live ? i know they're dotted around the country.
if you can get a traders card there, then that would be spot on! real cheap there for almost everything you would need for a car! but not too easy to get the card.
worth trying to get a halfrauds one, every little helps in the long run.
my auto Glym kit had about 8-9 quid knocked off, so could be good on other products in the cleaning range.

ha ye i took advantage of afew things on this as i needed afew bits and pieces, on the day or else i wud have got stuff online
Personally i dont rate the Meg's "Deep System" Step 1,2 and 3, but i used it as a starter kit as its so straightforward
tyre gel is spot on
the Premium microfibre cloth in the clay bar kit comes in very useful
As for using the clay bar, split the 1 of the bars into 2 (you get 2 small bars in the box). Roll between ur hands until warm and needable (sp) then flaten into a small pancake shape, spray the detailing spray onto the panel ur going to do and a small amount on the bar. Apply no real presure and just pull the bar over the area. Keep going until u feel and see nomore contaminates (sp) on the bar. keep rolling and needing the bar every so often so ur using a clean face, dispose of the bar when u can no longer get a clean surface.
Claying the car is personal prefference, but what u've got to remeber is the megs bar will prob remove ur wax polish, so personally with the kit u've got id do it maybe every 3 months. Also expect to spend around a day claying a car if its never been done before.
A tip i have but others may not reccomend is clay bar the black trims as long as ur carefull and dont apply to much pressure and keep areas wet, u wouldn't believe how much dirt it will pull out of the trim. Makes ur trims look jet black before u apply any dressing and last quite ahwile!;)

Thanks alot mate :y: Very useful advice for me. I had a go at needing the clay lastnite, and it was quite difficult at first but when it warmed up a bit it was quite easy. Not liking the idea of taking a whole day to clay the car though :n: i was hoping to do it all in one day: Wash, dry, clay, step 1,2 and 3, trims, wheels and tyres. Be up at 9am, then be done by 6pm ready for the misses.
