So Ive ordered my wash kit. 2 buckets, 2 grit guards, lambs wool wash mitt, miricle dry towel.

Next on the list is two sonus der wunder drying towels. megs quick clay kit.

Then I want to polish and wax. Is hand polishing any good?

What products do you find are best for hand polishing and waxing. Towels and all... Cheers

I use AG SRP, and hand polish everything, takes a good while but once its done you relise how much better it looks polished.

I always look at my car for like 20 mins after iv done it and always find lil patches iv missed haha.

Srp should be fine for hand polishing, you could follow it up with something like this
http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/polishing/polish/clearkote-vanilla-moose-wax-hand-glaze/prod_119.html which is really easy to apply by hand and gives a great finnish.
For the wax you can go with pretty much whatever you want depending how much you want to spend, i used to use clearkote wax also, hope that helps dude

If you are Rolls Royce'ing everthing like grit guards and lambs wool mitts, why not save up for a machine polisher. Much better results than polishing by hand. It's all about the speed and the temp the machine is able to generate to break down the polish.

Before polishing, clay the car, this makes a big difference.

if i was applying by hand i would use Chemical guys all in one polish, this as well as polishes also applys a sealant to protect the polished finish.

If you want on top of that you can apply chemical guys m seal (by hand) again to protect the good finish you have achieved.

On top of that i highly recommend applying a good quality wax to make the paint really sparkle. Now waxes are a little more complicated, what colour car do you have? This is very important to choose the wax that will work best with your car.

As far as towels go, always use good quality microfibre cloths.

I will say though that the finish you can achieve by hand is very limited, i always thought my car was looking good but now that i use a orbital machine polisher the reaults are absolutly fantastic. Could be worth purchasing one in the future.

have a look on www.cleanyourcar.co.uk

Hope this helps.

Ive just got some chemical guys all in one not tried it yet but heard good things about it.

I always used to use srp and thats very good also when used by hand.

I think i may have been using too much though as its very dusty.

Depends how much you're looking to spend. I personally like Poorboys products if you're looking for a medium price range. PB Waffle Weave drying towel has to be the best drying towel I've ever used (better than Sonus for me). PB polish with carnauba or PB polish with sealent followed by PB Natty's Blue wax (for dark cars). Foam applicator to apply polish, buff with a microfibre towel, microfibre applicator for applying wax, again buff with a microfibre towel :y:

Wont do much in the terms of correction, not without spending a bit of time on it.

Hand polished with SRP, and waxed with Dodo Juice:
