I am sorry to say that i have just been informed by Steve Bennet of Ross On Wye that Richard Burns passed away this evening he had been extremely ill for some time- our thoughts must be with his friends and family.

That is very shocking, i thought he was going to get better & come back & win the wrc, today (yesterday) just isnt a good day at all.

this is really shocking - thought he was on the road to recovery. gutted we'll never get to see him in a rally car again.

RIP Burnsie, thoroughly nice bloke as well as an awesome driver. Met him several times when he was testing his scooby down here before the rally gb, got his autograph mounted on the wall. Last memory of him now was at the castle coombe rally day. He was being driven round the track by Phill Mills in a convoy of his old rally cars. The crowd clapped him round.
