Chester is a really nice city. The high street has all the usual shops, GAME, Boots, WH Smith etc and easy to find your way around. Quite a few tourists during the summer due to the history of it.
EDIT: We're Up, you're Down, not the other way around.

Im in oswestry but work in chester which aint bad to be fair has all the usual shops you want, wrexham I wouldn't say its great but again not utter toss night life in wrexham its easy just one street lined with pubs and clubs kebabies etc.
Job wise there are plenty of jobs going around and job agencies so wouldn't take long to find a job if needed local area but if looking at liverpool/wirral/warrington manc land then look on hotrecruit / reed job websites plenty in there. Trains are also ok generally on time 6 times out of 10, buses not bad either but car wise 15-20 to chester from wrexham and vise versa, 45 min or so manchester 1hr to brummy land.
