anyone got a pic of the behind the door so i can see what i need to pull to remove the door pins? i searched but all that comes up is problems with doing mk2 doors. plus can u put the pins back on after?

you cant put the pins back in after unless you replace the whole rod but thats a massive ball ache for little result.
take your door card off, get the pin in your hand and bend it down to 90 degrees, hack saw it off at the bend, replace door card.
bish bash bosh, real good nosh.......

thought u have to unclip it from somewhere?
Mike-VTR

unclipping on mk2 is alot harder, you have to cut into your sound deadening and fuck about.
but with a hacksaw it takes about 30 seconds for the same result

tbh mate, i dont think you will be able to unhook the mk2 pins. When i did mine, i pulled it out as far as i could, cut it as low as i could, and then unhooked, so i wasnt left with anything left in the door to rattle around

tbh your all wrong. i got a mk2 w reg furio. replacing my door cards/ interior and decided to have a go. i robbed the missus's compact hangbag mirror and had a nose. you can see where it hooks into the central locking... if you have it.... dont do it unless you got central locking btw! :P then give it a push towards you. then you will hear it go *ping* against the inner door then pull the pin up, or out. i pulled mine out through the inner door. 3 min job..!!

ok ok ok, push it towards u, u mean pull it towards u? or push it towards the outside of the door?

cos if i sell car to a non modder it'll have to be put back to standard door pins included
NICK2506
27th April 2009, 20:54
yeah i agree, with every mod i do i make sure it can relatively easily be converted back to standard for when i come to sell it.

yea i just cut the pin about 1'' down as i was having the same problem as you it doesnt rattle or anything altho ive heard it defeats the object if you only cut it, only gain if its removed? dont quote me on this only what ive heard not sure tho

i have to sort something in my door lock so i may do a guide for this. baisicly take the door card off pull the sound deadning back abit. then on the back edge of the door on the outside there are 3 40 torx screws remove them. and pull the mechanism back and unclip the door handle pinn and the inner door panel pinn and unclip the multiplug. the mechanism should come out of the door. you can now remove the lock/unlock pinn properly and no cut replace everything youve disconected spray a bit of glue on the sounddeadning and rpleace the door panel job done.

im doing mine one night this week, after breaking into my mates car with a strip of plastic used to wrap boxes on saturday in less than a minute after having never done it before i now know how easy it actually is to get in a car with door pins! nothing dodgy at all, he locked his keys in it somehow in the middle of a carpark in town so had no other option, he was ready for breaking the window lol

was his window down a bit for you to be able to put something over the top and pull the pin up?

28th April 2009, 03:37
Why not just bend it 180* down...so it hides under the door card...then bend it back up if you sell?? :S

nope. goes between the rubber and the door frame

nope. goes between the rubber and the door frame
ooh shit. didnt realise it was that easy :S can people do that on saxos?
stu-n-shell
28th April 2009, 17:47
its increadably easy to pull the top of the door frame out and slide something down to pull the pin. i broke into mine with a shoe lace with a noose on the end. just pulled the door frame back droped the lace down over the pin pulled the noose tight and yanked it up. job done one open saxo.

I dont see the point in taking out your door pins. can anyone enlighten me on why people do it  lol
stu-n-shell
28th April 2009, 17:55
see my post above mate. its that easy to break into a saxo. even if you have an alarm by the time you get dressed and out you will be minus a cd player an various other things
Lloydie
28th April 2009, 17:57
But if somone really wanted to break into a saxo, they would tap the window and it shatters stupidly easy, Climb in the window and hot wire it

when you say pull the door frame out do you mean like pull the door out at the top just below the roof and hang something down?
stu-n-shell
28th April 2009, 18:12
yeah mate you can get the tips of your fingers down and just pull it bacl enuth to drop sumit down.

Hey Mark i agree with "mattymcn" you can definetly unhook the pins without hacking them off!
because a couple of months back i had to replace the central locking solenoid in my N/S door.
So as I work at VW I got one of the technicians to help me fit the new one.
anyway once we had the door card off and the lock/catch unbolted we
needed to take the door pin off the central locking solenoid so that the lock
and solenoid would become free and we cud replace it.
After alot of fiddling in
awkard places and the use of a broken wing wirror we unhooked the door pin
which meant the lock and solenoid could come out and be replaced.
sooooooooo basically what I'm trying to say is YES it is possible to take the
door pins off of a Mk2 with out cutting them its just very fiddly and awkward!
but stick with it! Remember: good things come to those who wait! :drink:
Soz for all the typing.
