Why dont you give it a go yourself? Not the hardest jobs in the world :y:

citroen will most probs be as expensive if not more than this other garage your using. If your gonna sell the car though it looks good to have citroen stamps :y:
Either do it yourself if you aint bothered about service stamps or find another garage.

hello mate i used to do abit on my old xr2 but now i have a lack of time , work and a baby to look after , i must admit having a go yourself can be rewarding esp when you get it right !! LOL though some jobs are a pain and take ages plus i get annoyed quite easy and i don't want to give my vtr a slap !! LOL cheers mate

Id look at getting quotes from independant garages. Main dealer servicing is typically quite expensive and the chances are they wont even take the wheels off!

The garage in question is " Hidsons " in Rainham Kent there seems to be afew Saxo's knocking about these parts of the woods but i doubt they use them either !! i wonder if they ever do deals on older parts for the VTR and VTS models ? made me wonder as afew years back when i owned a mk 1 escort mexico Ford in dartford ( i think its gone now ) where flogging off some older parts at a discount ! such as the rs 4 spoke .

main dealer servicing is a rip off, theres only one way to service a car, just because its done by some 17yo apprentice at citroen doesnt means its worth the massive price tag,
take it to a decent garage or try it yourself tbh..

main dealers are rip offs tbh, the mechanics iin there usually dont have a clue on how to fix things, ieif something is wrong they will just order a new part instead of fixing the old one, would never use a dealer, only time would be if the car was still under warranty then id use them cos it would be free :)

Allen citroen (with ford) around the corner with me charge extortionate prices for services, as stated ring around some respected garages, have a look on pistonheads forum in your local area and click on the tab for respected garages or whatever it is as they usually list a few decent ones that charge a good rate :)

my citroen dealers charge about 70-80 per hour iirc which is alot
although they quoted me cheapest out of 5 garages for a cambelt change on my vts

yea they're expensive, the only reason i use them is 'mates rates' as my mums mates with some of the mechanics at our local!

I'm doing all my servicing from now. Got a little stamp with 'Home Service' on it so when I sell the car, I'll just keep every receipt for it.

You dont do it and get a garage to do it lol. Just do as much as you can yourself, it dosent need the cam belt changing every year lol.

I'd rather maintain the car myself, least you are learning at the sametime and as said - cambelt on mine is every 130k I think.
Replacing Anti Roll bushes at weekend, I don't mind getting stuck in and least I'm servicing it with the best parts.
