To get the benefits from a plasma tv
1) The TV has to be 42" or more
2) You need to be watching HD content on a screen this big - preferably from a Blu-ray source.
3) Finally the plasma TV needs to have a resolution of 1920x1080.
Therefore, can get a better quality LCD for the money imo.

They are both 42" panasonics look at the link
Lg = poor build quality the best tvs to go for in terms of quality and reliability are Pioneer > Sony > Panasonic > Samsung

Samsung = looks pretty but built to a price
Panasonic = looks ok but very high quality
I used to work for the tech guys who do all the tv repairs for pc world and currys and the majority of tv's needing repiar were samsung followed by lg.
One of the guys there said in 4 years he has never seen a sony / pioneer plasma go wrong but they are mega money

I don't think mine was ... Fucking expensive to buy @ the time.
Don't Samsung use the same screen as someone else (Can't remember who)

Dont pay attention to contrast ratios either as they test them differently ie samsung only us a black and white screen whereas panasonic use all the colour of the spectrum.
I love my plasma but had an lcd before but for gaming etc I find the plasma to be better

i have narrowed it down to 2 i think, both plasma both 42inch one is samsung on is panasonic, panasonic is 100 more and means ill have to put some money towards it.....

You get what you pay for so youll get more component quality for your £100 but at the end of the day you may never see that difference.
Go to Currys and look at the two you want side by side, comparing the same program broadcast off the same input. At teh end of the day its in the eye of the beholder. If you still think the samsung picture looks better, save your cash! If you can see where your £100 is going in the panasonic picture quality then theres your answer!

twas 340 quid mate
mobile electronics (wembley electronics on ebay), i travelled over 200 mile to pick it up and come back with it but only spent 15 quid on petrol, still saved me 80 if i bought it from a shop on the net with delivery though

would never go with plasma, unless you plan on sitting straight in front of it in the dark.
the is a reason why LCD costs more, tbh, your better with a CRT than a plasma ;)
