Is this a good price for....

Today I rang my local body shop to get a quote on a bit of work I want on the Sax.

He quoted me £60 for stripping and sanding my drivers side wing and priming and respraying it wicked red.

Also for a small charge extra he is going to walk round my car and fill in any scratches, car park dents and chips and also he is going to bond the bottom of the arches back onto the sills for me so hopefully she will be looking mint for the summer.

The thing I want to know is £60 good for respraying a wing and for a total of around £100 - 120 give or take a few quid good for the work im having done baring in mind I have chips, dents and scratches everywhere?

I would do it myself but well ill leave it to your emaginations....

Yeah he pretty good.

He used to do all the company cars for MG/Rover.

When the staff dent the company cars he would fix them up dirt cheap so they wouldnt loose there deposits...clever aye lol!

If i can get the lot done for under £150 ill be happy. If he does a good job and you don't mind travelling ill pass the details on if you ever need any work doing mate.

ah a local lad (ish) lol well im going down tomorrow on my lunch break to let him look at the car as I only got a quote on the phone and ill hopefully get him to do it next week during the week when im working so it can be all fresh for the santa pod car show sunday the 10th :D as im having a new clutch fitted sat and getting my new VTS wheels on! Its actually rubery where he is based if you know where that is?

Certainly sounds like a good price.
Just make sure its a good match as he may have to fade into the door/bonnet dependant on the straight edge colour match which would normally be over £100 from most places.

Not sure what wicked red is like for matching.

i dunno about 'wicked' red for matching but i work for a bodyshop and red is always the colour painters are wary of! something to do with blending the colour. so double check the paintwork before you pay!

oooh ok! He said on the phone red is usually the easiest to match for some reason! Im worried now but he done another one of my cars...my 1st metro infact and done all the rear arches as they where rusty and he done a good job of that and that was red lol!
