I don't know if all car models are the same. Without any indication of a model, this seemed the 'best' answer.

my mk1 was a case of turning the stick left or right my mk2 doesnt seem to work like that any one know???

With the key in the ignition, turn it 2 times so all the display lights come on but don't turn the engine on. Hold down the right button underneath the rev counter then it should flash. Press it til you get the right time then press the left button to switch between hour/minute
