smackin the dash and steering wheel can set it off. it works on a pin system you smack the airbag pin pierces airbag and BOOM! White flash before your eyes :P

Airbags actually work based on a chemical reaction started by a small sparkplug inside the mechanism. They shouldnt go off unless he has a frontal impact triggering the sensor, to prevent situations like this. Too many cars have horns & airbags in their steering wheel, can you imagine the chaos of roadrage if people could set the aibag off by hammering the steeringwheel!
If that vids real i'd say that guy could make himself a packet in court for the damage that bag might have done to him!

this is a real thing. that video might be fake, but there was a new system of antitheft safety device.

it had quite a major fault. There was sensors on the bumpers, theives would get things like a rubber basbeall batt and hit the front of the car( the car is locked and un-occupied) and this would trigger the safety system, so the air bages would go off and the doors would auto-matically open.

they re-called most, but there is still a few out there ;) ....merceded cough....mercedes.
