wear a helmet when your driving on public roads?
Not that im gonna do it lmao, but its more dangerous to have a roll cage on the roads as its more metal right next to your head to headbang for abit when you crash.
So can you wear helmets on the road?

There are laws that prohibit you from wearing anything on your head while driving that seriously constrains your range of vision.

No one can really say a full face helmet will restrict your vision as its a legal requirement on a bike (not full face but a helmet is), most bikers wear full face ones. Open face = lame and face destroyal if you fall off.
As said a lot of people in open top cars like caterhams and atoms wear them, but I've heard that the police get a bit arsey if you wear one in a normal looking car as they think your up to something trying to hide your face or whatever.

you can buy it in crazy colours as they call it cage padding and do orange and red and blue ect
tbh get a low as fook seat with head supports and reduce the risk s much as you can

My dad has a trike and he goes out in the usual Bandana style or sometimes has a helmet on (weather permiting), so i dont see why it would matter in a car

If you get pulled just tell the police you have a really destroyed face and feel its against your human rights to show how disabled your face is.
Hand a pre written note from your mom to Mr Officer stating why you wearing said helmet and ask that he not cause you more pain and discomfort by removing it.
