T D pro race 1.2 are lighter than most others i believe mate

tbh you will probably be looking at silly prices to get the right balance between strength and weight, the lighter an alloy the more it costs, because itl still need to have the same strength so not to buckle going over bumps, and considering the state of some roads in the UK you dont want something that break going over a slight bump... 2nd hand would be the best bet for very light alloys and not paying silly prices, but as said above the pro race 1.2s are pretty light and will cost about 600-700 with a decent set of tyres new

Pro races are 6.1 k each. They look the tits on saxos too. I wanted them about a year before i even had my car and finally got some in march. Did have vts wheels and could tell a difference straight away in the handling.

As Mr Moderator says - OZ Superleggera are the lightest, weighing in at just 4.9kg.

c5 steels are very light. but not alloys

You need to consider more things when working out the total weight of wheels.

What noone has mentioned yet is that whilst C5 steelies and Super T's are both light, they both require large spaces to get them to fit.

Rushy has Super Ts and he has 20mm spacers which are the type which bolt to the hub and then with a second set of bolts they bolt to the spacer
LEE_VTR1 also has the same with his C5 steelies

So with the extra weight of an extra set of bolts and a heavier spacer your wheel will end up being heavier in effect than something like the OZ Ultraleggera which doesnt need either.

On Mine i have fitted 10mm spacers just to bring them out to the arch more but im still using 1 set of bolts and 1/2 the spacer size.

OZ Ultraleggera = 7x15" 4,99 kg

That is what I was about to say Willsy,

I have Superleggeras, 4.9kg each, I weighed before fitting.

But, each has around 1kg of spacer per wheel.

Still leaving it 2kg lighter than standard

C5 "steelies" are magnesium alloy and weigh less than superleggera, ~4.5kg - they don't look like your typical alloy wheels though :P

My leggs are 5.4kg with the 25mm spacers attached the extended bolts weight more to

Cheap Lightweight alloys;

Dezent Motion 6.4kg, come in ET38 so you will need spacers. Around £320 with tyres
Wolfrace ProLite 6.1kg, come in ET15. Around £350

Matts post is spot on (bar the fact that Im running Superleggeras not Super Turismos lol)!

Superleggeras are lighter this is due to them being a higher ET. A Ultraleggera is a lower ET so has more material around the centre to give the wheel the correct offset.

To get a Superleggera to fit you need meaty spacers, I run 25mm spacers and as I found out today 2 of them are now fucked..

i have oz superleggera on my scooby and wouldnt swap them for any other wheel so light the car felt so different when fitted

I noticed the difference straight away when I put the Rota's on my saxo. It feels so much more responsive in every way!

Lightweight wheels are deffinately one of the best upgrades for any car IMO

WTF are you guys using for spacers? Solid gold bars? :ponder:

Spacers don't weigh much at all. I'm using 2 different sets, and they're like a couple of hundred g's each. You need to also remember that it's not all about the total weight, it's where the weight is located. The more weight distributed towards the centre of the axis, the better. So a few extra g's around the middle of the wheel area will have very little impact on rotational mass. As tyres go around the outside of the wheel, (obviously) and they weigh more than the wheel, the impact far, far outweighs any spacer or bolt.

depends somewhat on the material, but I would only really get hub centric aluminium alloy ones as they are nice and light....

Desmond Regamaster - they are rare as anything but light as fook. When you pick them up can only feel the wight of the tyre

Simple answer to the intitial question - none without spending a whack, but if you are prepered to shell out it has to be the OZ Ultraleggeras

Yeah slips are lite. Could use adaptors but then again they add weight!
