Hi.

Just wondering what the youngest age you can be to get insured on a VTS?

Thanks.

depends on how much £££££ you have to spend on insurance.

Joking right?

Also i tried quotes but couldnt get many.

What insurers would ensure younger drivers?

You'll get quotes for VTS's mate, but they will be well over £2.5k im guessing, maybe even more.

If you got the money you can get insured on any car once you're 17.

if you got the money then you can have anything you want simple as mate

but wouldnt recomend getting one till your 19 at least then insurance might not be so bad

Elephant, Bell, Quinn-Direct etc are quite good with young drivers. They quoted me £700 all in for a VTS when I was 18. But then I'm a chick. lol.

Like the others said though, maybe best to wait a couple of years til you've got a bit more experience and will also be alot cheaper. I'm only paying £400 fully comp on my VTR :)

If you got the money you can get insured on any car once you're 17.Not on "High Performance" cars you won't, no insurance company I know will insure anyone under the age of 21 and sometimes 25 if the car is above a certain BHP.

Saxo_Scott

I would say 19 is an ok age, if you are willing to shell out £££££

Really wouldnt advise on getting a VTS for first car at age oy 17 even a VTR is a no-go really imo.

There is no point in having alot of power when you have hardly any driving experience, whats point in having it, to prob show off to your mates etc and then wrap it round a tree and kill yourself.

Im 19 this year and still got a 1.5 derv and i'll probs just keep it till im 21 to be honest then go onto better things.

disagree there

VTR at 17 is do-able and perfectly ok, i had one at 17 and didnt wrap it around a tree although i did show off abit but its dependent on the person that has it and their experiences and if they can afford it

hell i got a VTS at 18 and cammed and stuff ... all at 18

like i said it is dependent on the person and if they can afford it :y:

elliot probably (no pun intended) cant afford to run a VTR/S and has a derv and is saying this because he cant afford one but if he could afford a vts he would have one:y:

cams arent declared, the other mods are though and i paid £600 with more than to insure the vtr under my mums name at 17 then i insured the S at 18 on my own policy :y: now im 19 and insurance is quite good considering it helps if u dont pay it monthly and pay it in full

one of my policys ive got at the moment with more than wouldnt even let me swap my policy over to a 106 gti and thats me been 23! so when you were 18 on a vts is mad, thats if it is with more than aswell.

hellovts
15th May 2009, 14:58
no, the vts i went with a different insurance company

morethan was just a stop gap for until i turned 18 and had 1years driving exp therefore i could insure a vts for under 2k and when i turned 18 and had 1years driving exp i sold the vtr and cancelled the policy with morethan and got some money back and insured the vts with a different company and proceeded to mod it and iv still got it renewal quotes are coming back at around 1k full comp but im sure with a certain insurance company itl be down to £750 ish

although i am looking at other cars aswell due to not being employed and going to college/uni this sept but the vts is a pretty immense car in all honesty

You think a VTS at 17/18 is not good then how about this.. My friend when he was 17 his 1st car was a Clio 172 and hes now 18 and got a Clio V6. His insurance costs loads tho.

Very nice car :y: Just pray he takes care in it (which im pretty sure he would, he must be very proud of it, and good luck to him) any accidents makes them an instant write-off's for insurance company's. :n:

Obviously dont know all the insurance company's out there then! :p lol! Theres pretty much always a company that will insure you for a price! May have a few 0's on then end but if youre willing to pay they will insure you! :y:
