Brand new full s/s longlife exhaust system with jap style box

13th May 2009, 19:44
I do like the Glanzas.

£2500 sounds cheap, is it quite high mileage?

Oh and I like the wheels, bet they're a twat to clean though!

13th May 2009, 23:32
nice car mate. my mate had one in white with white wheels. i rekon that would look good lowered on some bbs rs (iirc) wheels with red centres.

what insurance group are these ??

Jaytee
13th May 2009, 23:34
Very nice. id drop it abit and get rid of the wheels cause they ruin a perfectly nice car tbh. Some black five spokes would suit it i think.

VTR-Chris-VTR
14th May 2009, 01:14
Yeh i will be getin shot of the wheels later on in the summer i hope once ive got abit of money together

Its only standard atm, though got full system and HKS induction, which ive heard does add bhp on turbo cars so running 140bhp maybe along with full system?

Plans are to follow:

Different jap wheels
Lowering (handles like a pig so much body roll its unbeleiveable)
Re-map
De-cat & s/s mani
Dump valve

Visal i would like to get carbon bonnet and spoiler to add that extra jap look :y:

But as for prices theses cars are going for atleast 3-6k still even now so i got a deal tbh.

very nice

good price to

Ive got the GT

Rebuilt a few of these aswell

Take your time in it,and dont increase boost to much unitl you have an fpr or piggyback ecu :)

also bewhere that runner 3 on the mani will cause piston to blow on number 3

very restrictive

nice clean motor, not too keen on Galanzas tbh.
As for wheels to buy JDM new ones most manufacturers prices have gone up by around 55% this definately applies to Rays(Volk).
A mate of mine is selling some Desmond Regamasters if you'd be interested.

Well thanks for all your good comment people

I must say this car get more attenstion and looks from people in the glanza then i did in my saxo.

Insurance is only an extra £201 or summut like that for the whole year so cheap tbh

Nice car and cheap price mate. just liven the car up abit with somthing like black wheels tinted rear windows n lights etc. Definitely one of the first mods you should do is remove air-con and relocate your air filter to front bumper adds an easy 15-20bhp turbo spools up WAY quicker and sheds alot of weight, only cost me £5 aswell

My old starlet use to fuel cut, anyone no why?

15th May 2009, 00:08
yea because you had no fueling mods probily

there is only a set amount which the stock ecu will allow the car to run

because it was limited still if you fitted a F.C.D (hks fuel cut defender) and fuel pressure reg on right setting,s it would not fuel cut but, but speed would still only be 110 max unless speed converter de-limiter is fitted to car, you would probs need a better acuater also hks

Right havent been on here in a while. I have since spent a Grand on putting a new engine in due to cyclinder 3 piston melting which i wasnt to pleased about.

Also got some new wheels to give it more of a jap look, there 17's not sure wat make they are but i swaped them for my old fox wheels, i also sprayed the centers gloss black, and also sprayed the bonnet vent gloss black

Also added a Blitz BOV. oh and i found out the cars fitted with a HKS FCD and i got some pillar gauges :y:

Yeh i wouldnt blame you mate, them cupra's are nice

I really do like my starlet but it just eats ur bank account all the time lol.

But you can do so much to a glanza tuning wise. my mate got the old starlet gt and thats pushing 321bhp. forged engine and he uped it to a 1.4

Yeh they are expensive, but worth it, cause they dont really loose there value due it to being a rare import car. but i say rare but theres a few around now.

but i got mine cheap £2500 but then ended up spending a futher grand on it a week later.

but there quick cars, its quicker then my mates golf 2.8 VR6

i was looking at these, and there only 'Rapid' when theyve had a few good mods done to them, very tunable but not worth the £4k price tag when i was looking

the looks and handling put me off so a vts it was ;) still good cars tho for the age..

starletcal
29th August 2009, 12:14
mine handles as good as a vts, proven, and pulls so much harder on straights, mine Was 260+brake and 230+ft lbs at 1.4 bar on a td04 turbo on Stock ecu and internals, im not aiming for over 300.

Theyre not reliable when over 200bhp as ive found out, but my god theyre cheap and easy to work on!, ive had mine before i was even old enough to drive, and 2 years later ive still got it, My insurance is £1300 tpft with quinn at 18 with years no claims on my own, the car cost me £1250 when i was 16, bare in mind its a december 1995 gt in silver with only 51k on it. Ive spent around another £2000-2500 from stock to get it to the stage i have it now

I am interested in what you did to get it to handle and how know its as good as a VTS? I have only driven a few and found them all to be not that great on the handling front. Not on par with 205 and AXs I am more familiar with. Though all were fast in a strait line for a small FWD car.

starletcal
29th August 2009, 13:09
many a vts has tried to outhandle me, Im not sure about a 205 as there isnt many around here, my mate had a 205 and that was perfect round bends, bear in mind these saxos's and 106's are lowered in excess of 60mm

MiniGibbo
29th August 2009, 13:12
Id loose those 17's, look better but imho are still shite

A set of coilys with some braces and a decent set of 16's itll handle much better as well as not looking chavy.

hehe cal me and you have dueled in the past i dont know if youll remember my vts or me but you was with about 4 cars and i was with quite a few myself and we all ended up having a play this is going back some time now. you will probably remember my name and my vts was red with white speedlines.

ps i know where you live i take it its got to be yours as theres only 1 silver gt with red rims lol, also being from round our way do you know dean and rory?? both have starlet tubs rorys is the same shape as yours and deans is the newer galanza shape with rising sun on the roof.

I must admit i had a older GT before on coilovers so my mate said he put on it :S but it handled so much better then my VTR ever did, rid was so horrid though, but it made up for it in the corners

I am thinking of geting some 16's later on, im loosing so much accelleration atm

tell me more...

hes already asked me, and then claimed some stuff, i asked some more questions, and havent recieved a pm back, car was rolled, and when i asked if it finished off laying on its roof, i never recieved another pm, so took that as the answer

here is my gt
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y86/scot-ish/SDC10904.jpg

how did you get that stuff so cheap??

cos the dastek and boost console, cost you £207 delivered, plus paypal charges, so dont believe you got the cap clutch, flywheel and harness delivered for £50???

few bits of bullshit in this thread lol, some1 claimed to have "bored" there 1.3 to a 1.4, that doesnt really happen, even with 75.5m pistons, its still only 1386cc, unless your claiming thats a 1.4 lol

I think 1386 would be defined as 1.4 as the ax gt was 1360 and thats a 1.4.

Although I don't expect to much from someone that gets banned from tgtt and seems to join on here to spam and say french cars are rubbish.

I was on here before tgtt as used to be in the french car scene.
