hi all

my saxo has been dead for ages now not starting, dead on my drive,

it all started after i hit a bottle jack on the motorway smashing my sump in brakeing oil pump other under car damage and 2 mashed wheels classed as a cat d write off so got it home and repaired it running fine and all good

then after a few months it started running ver eratically trying to stall when driveing and the engein warning light on, the warning light came on due to the 2nd lambda being disconected as my manifold was damaged and waiting repair, replaced the coil pack and ran smoother and no problems dor a few weeks, some times it wouldnt start and it was stalling at lights then died totally when i pulled on to my drive not to start again.

i thought it was my alarm but diabled that and aint that,

now i have bought a ELM323 ecu diagnostic tool and it is reading 2 codes.

P0108: Manifold Absolute Presure/Barametric presure circuit high input
and
P0140: O2 sensor circuit no Activity detected

now i have changed the map sensor and got no joy

can any one help me!! sorry for the long intro just giving as much info as possible

regards

chris

When you replaced the lambda did you check the wiring it obviosly took a huge inpact and some of the wiring could of broke inside. Are you using the standard airbox with the oxygen sensor or a K&N.

knew someone with a saxo 1.4, and the map sensor wire, theres 3 going to it iirc, and 1 was broken, it used to just come up as map sensor high/low or what ever on the code read, and it used to jerk, cut out, not start randomly (where the wire used to touch and come off again)

ignition relay is a common problem. does the fuel pump prime? if it dosent its the relay

do you have fuel getting to the fuel rail? if not try the resetting the fuel cut off switch! its the big red thing above the batt just push the middle all the way down! after doing that if you have a volt meter check to see if theres power getting to the fuel pump when you turn the ignition on! if there is fuel getting to the rail check to see if you have a spark! you can do this by taking the coil pack off and the spark plugs out of the head then put them back into the coil pack and rest the plugs onto the head and get your mate to turn the car over and see if you can see a spark! DO NOT touch the spark plugs when its being turned over it will hurt a lot trust me! if you can see a spark on some and not others it might be that some have a good earth and some dont so move them around on the head to get a better contact with the metal! if theres no spark at all take the engine speed sensor off and give it a clean its the one on the front of the gearbox with a brown connector still no luck you might need a new one like i did! mine was broken and stoped the plugs from sparking :( ! hope that helps
