hey ive just finnished my S conversion and was thinking of getting the car lighter, if i get rid of the rear seats how much weight do you think im getting rid of ?

10kg for rear bench then get rid of the spare wheel and cage which is roughly another 15

not that much tbh. if your going to strip for weight saving, you need to go alot more in depth(sound deadening, roof linning etc)

theres bugger to the roof lining isnt there?
sound deadening is where its at, completely get rid of the rear panels and seats and spare etc and theres no reason it will 20-25kg lighter

okay cheers, well im really thinking on doing it..... the GF dont like the idea as it will look 'pikeyish' haha....

roll cage!!!! and if she still moans, lighten the car more by getting rid of passenger seat!

haha stripping is free so think i will do that first then the roll cage....

lol at removing the passenger seat!
youll love the difference in performance from stripping, there was an old saying that removing 10kg is like adding 1% more power
remove 25kg = 2.5% power
not much but every little helps :P
