Driveshafts?

Hi all,

Back in March, whilst on the M1, a strange 'whirring' noise was coming from my wheels. I have since had the CV boot done. Today (whilst on the same bit of M1!!) it started again. The guy in the garage said that if the CV boot fix didn't work It'd be new driveshafts as you can't do CV joints without replacing the shafts. Is this the case? If so, roughly how much would it cost to have done? Is it a difficult DIY job?

not tooo much, can pick them up for like £45, and the only hard bit about doing it yourself is actually pulling the shaft out, its a bit of a bugger to do! if you get it done at a garage they shouldnt charge you more than half hours labour! hope that helps :)
