basicallt the car has had a new fuel um as it woul;dnt start before and it wasnt priming. new one in and still no priming noise although it started. after about a minute the fuel pressure regualtor started leaking petrol everywere. doesnt relly sound nrmal to me. the ignition barrel has also been changed on the car and two of the plugs are connected but the one with the brown wires has been cut and they have been connected leaving the ignition barrel ones dangliung. please help !!!!

Well if your car wouldn't start before the pump was changed and it does afterwards then you may have cured one problem whether you can hear the priming or not.

You need to be sure that you have installed the correct pump though as a leaking fuel pressure valve is a worrying sign and needs to be resolved.

The ignition barrel may not have been changed just because of what you have seen in the wiring. Seems there was a problem with ignition barrels resulting in burnt connections that resulted in no power steering, heater fan and heated rear window. Of course if you have a different key for the doors vs the barrel then you are right about the barrel being changed.

well barrel has def been chnaged sorry shud have mentioned old broken one is in the car that one has onlt two connectors coming off and newly fitted one has three only two connected bit weird. well fuel pump is in propely just dont understand why it makes no noise. although a leaking fpr is not right i understand how they work and all the parts in the system but was hoping to save some time and someone might no what it is.
