2cm Rust

On the roof of my car i got about 2cm of rust. What do i do? Sand it down and cover the area around it with tape and spray the rust white once its been sanded. or shall i spray the whole roof?

If the rust has got a hold, ie pitted the metal then the only cure is to cutt it out and replace the offending piece of metal. If you sand it down and paint it will be back within weeks. I am no expert with body work but depending where it is it should be do able. To keep labour costs down expalin to the body shop that you will remove the roof lining, bits of trim etc. I expect that the whole roof will be spayed and feathered into the a b and c posts.
