Alright guys i've got a question...

I tried selling my show car a while back and got nothing but timewasters and dreamers. I realise that its a shit time to be selling a car but i really need to get rid of it now.
Obviously i'm gonna lower the price and have got nearly a full 12 month MOT on it now but the question is.. Do you think it would be easier to strip the car and sell it for parts?
Theres lots of expensive parts like the hydraulics etc but with the body all being steel theres no kit to sell.

What do you reckon?

the car..

thats actually an extremly nice car

considering body kits arent in fashion at this current time!

its hard to say weather stripping it would be best, try and get some intrest for the parts etc. then go from there

My car is modified (not to that extent ill be honest ;)) but im having to put it back to standard and sell parts seperatly then sell the car standard.
Works alot better.
No one is buying cars atm :wall:

As i work at the largest car auction company in the uk i can say
due to the mods on your car it will only sell to a niche market and then only if its the spec they want so you have a very limited audience.
But on the whole we are seeing a very good conversion rate on good condition small engind cars and diesels, and at the same time are fetching very good prices
Big guzzling petrol cars are harder to shift.
Id say your best bet is c if you can get on a company or club stand at fcs with flyers and specs on it and c what that brings.

How do you put fuel in it?

In the door pillar, that's where it normally gets placed after being removed...but omg such a nice car.

I'd assumeso, since it has plates.

In a similar note to what has been said, that style of modifying has gone out of fashion and made your potential market even smaller.

Where have you had it advertised? As that is the first time I have seen that car, ever.

Did you used to have another account on here btw?

It wouldn't be the first car not to have a rear number plate light.

I'm sure it appears for MOT time unless he knows the person doing the MOT who'll over look it.

The car is fully road legal.
The lights are in the rear window and are fully e-marked motorbike lights.
Number plate lights are built into the bolts that hold it on.
The doors are operated by solenoids and have buttons under the mirrors etc....

The car was on e-bay at the end of the year and pistonheads but just got idiots contacting me who had no real intention of ever buying it. Fast car ere meant to put in the feature that it was for sale but they forgot so that obviously missed a lot of potential customers.

It would normally be on the fusion stand at shows but unfortunately i cant take it due to work commitments.

Think im just going to have to sort out a few little jobs that need doing then re-advertise it. If i have no joy from that then i might end up getting the spanners out and stripping it!!

Oh yeah, bet new college lot loved your car when driving passed!

nealcampbell
19th May 2009, 17:55
yes its been a lot of work as i built the whole car myself by hand.. no bodyshop so the cost was kept down a bit. would be a shame to pull it apart..

Ive probably only been past the college a handful of time since i finished it as i never get round to using it. It has only done 800miles since it was finished and nearly all of that was driving it to shows..

Mate, not a fan of bodykits, but that looks stunning, would be a shame to strip it down, but if its the only way to get decent money out of it then do it, try on here in the for sale section

btw you need 30 days and 100 posts to access it

All the best

Must say, it looks a shit load better than i expected when i read "saxo show car" as most are wank, looks liek it's been done to a proper standard!
I think you will mostly get dreamers for it tho as you stated, if you can afford to i would just bang it in storage for a bit as stripping for parts would be a tragedy.

Whats the turning circle like? ;)
