View Full Version : Knocking on drivers side front wheel

About a year ago I bumped over a curb quite hard (my own fault:sad:) and snapped the suspension spring on the drivers side. Had that replaced as it started knocking when at slow speeds, like pulling onto / reversing off my drive.

Recently the knocking has started again. Similar noise, knocks once when turning the wheel round to full lock and then again when turning it back straight. It's just had an MOT and nothing was picked up on that. I would have thought if it was the spring again they would have noticed.

It also seems to pull to the left sometimes when accellerating hard which suggests that there may not be enough power getting to the right wheel. I've checked the CV boot and it seems to be fitted tight and there's no leakage.

Could it be I've also knacked the driveshaft when I've gone up the curb?

Car's a VTR Mk2 by the way.

Year sounds like your drive-shaft happened to mine about 3 weeks ago passenger side and that cost be £115 all in from a local garage..

Most garages was saying around 130-160 so ring around matey tell them you can get it cheaper..

mate no need to worry it happens on saxo's its not driveshafts. its your top strut has seized and your coil/spring is turning over the strut and making a clink noise as it spins.

i have it. so does most peeps :)
