Drove to college this morning and noticed that, when I was nearly there, the light below started flashing..

Engine didn't sound right and when I got out of the car but left the engine running, the exhaust was shaking quite alot..

Never have any problems with my engine, never normally misses a beat.

Only had one lesson for an hour, got back in to drive home and the light was off and the car seemed fine..

Just wondered what could have been the cause really..

Cheers.

Think i had the same thing, i had it on disagostics and turned out to be coil pack. Never happened since, but read up on it and it could have been cause the fuel was very low when i had the car so that could have caused the problem.

But best to get it checked out mate

From what i remember if it flashes its not that too serious but if it is constant, STOP

mine had a misfire. and the ecu went into limp mode. think it does it to prevent further damage. but unless it happens again dont worry too much.

Ah cheers mate. Yeah, I thought it could be the coil pack as a few months back, I had a full service and after, the car was slightly jumpy, so I knew it wouldn't be the plugs etc and it has been fine since, so maybe the coil pack needs replacing.. Know where they can be purchased from?

nah, mines on all the time, thats because my second lambda sensor is unplugged because of my decat and its ine to drive.

when its flashing it means that you have a misfire, this is also why your engine sounds like a subaru impreza, and i assume you also have lack of power.

my car does it every now and then on idle, but if you turn it off and start the car again it runs fine. does this solve your problem?

most good motor factors will do coil packs, try euro car parts or GSF. or if u want to spend big bucks go to citroen.

how do you know its not plugs? if it felt funny after they serviced it? maybe they put the wrong plugs in, i would take them out to check them and the gap.

For a replacement you would need the product code off the coil pack then just an ebay jobi

Cheers for the help mate your spot on lol.. It did sound like a subaru and there was lack of power lol.. May look into replacing the coil pack.. Definatly not the plugs.. I bought them and dads mate serviced my car.. Maybe it has been the coil pack all along, but tbh this is the first time in months that the car has missed a beat..

Thanks.

if i was you, i would pop the plugs out, clean them up, check connections, have a look at the coils, (if they are cracked they are buggered)

make sure there is no oil or water anywhere around there, use a solvent like wd40 to clean everything.

best to just check everything before you start spending money.
