Hi all. Thanks for allowing me to enter here and post my query which has done my head in since October :wall:!

I have a 95 VSX, my first Citroen and love it. However, it started juddering in October. I changed the plugs first but didn't help. It got worse and worse until I took it to my garage. They changed the air filter and cleaned the injectors. The smooth drive lasted 1 day and then back to the juddering! I took it back and was told it was the coil pack, so they put a new one on........3 weeks and £180 later it's doing the same thing.

This sounds similar (http://www.saxperience.com/forum/showthread.php?t=231574) but mine is constant.

I see people advising the map and lambada sensors. What the heck are these?

Can you help???? Pleeeeeeeese

Yours

Man in need!

Is your engine warning light on?

Could be one of a long list of things:

-Clogged fuel filter
-Failing injector(s)
-Top dead centre sensor
-Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor - this measures the pressure in your inlet manifold and tells the ECU when the engine is under load so it can adjust timing and fuel mixture; could be a leak in the inlet manifold area / vacuum.
-Lambda / Oxygen sensor - measures the amount of oxygen in the exhaust gases. They can get clogged and incorrectly tell the ECU to enrich the mixture.
-Coolant temperature sensor; see: http://www.saxperience.com/forum/showthread.php?t=195050
-Slipping clutch friction plate

Cheers

Good list there to check. Has it been on diagnostics?

Thanks for the pointers guys - much appreciated.

It's not been on diagnostics. I don't know of any garages in Oldham where they have them? I called one today as somebody gave me the number but they don't have a Citroen one.....

I can smell a strong scent of fuel sometimes but not all the time. It had it's MOT 2 weeks ago and needed a new cat as the emmisions were well out.

Does anybody know a garage in Oldham where they have a diagnostics for Citroen?

The problem is the car's only worth about £500 running correctly and I've already thrown £350 at it in the last 5 weeks with the coil pack, cat and MOT. When do I cut my losses!

Aaaah, the joys of being skint!
